Digital Media Manager | NORTH STAR FUND

A digital media specialist with experience in social justice communications.

The Digital Media Manager will be part of a three-person comms team. This person is focused on organizing all of our digital media content (video, audio, photography, illustrations, some text and ads) internally and then publishing that content for our key audiences on the appropriate platforms. This role is for someone who is excited and skilled at social listening and expanding our audiences – New Yorkers who want to support many different movements for social justice.

North Star Fund is a social justice fund that supports grassroots organizing led by communities of color building power in New York City and the Hudson Valley. We also organize people across race and class to give in support of social justice movements. We also offer year-round programming to help organizers build and sustain their work.

Associate Director, Financial Justice | Demos

The Associate Director, Financial Justice will lead, in consultation with the Director of Economic Justice, the development of a body of work at Demos focused on economic security and mobility, particularly through financial services.  Demos’ Economic Justice program advances an affirmative vision for a just and inclusive economic future and pathways to build economic power for Black and brown people and communities.  

In coordination with grassroots and movement-building organizations, the Associate Director will conceptualize, plan, execute and oversee research, analysis, and policy development. This work is based on the premise that those most impacted by injustice and inequality should have a voice in the solution. The position is part of the Economic Justice team at Demos and will report to the Director of Economic Justice. The most competitive candidates will bring an entrepreneurial orientation, humility, and an ability to work collectively both internally and externally. 

Demos is a movement-oriented think tank committed to racial and economic justice. Through research, advocacy, strategic communications, litigation, and deep partnerships with grassroots organizations across the country, we build power with and for Black and brown communities.

director of development | communities united for police reform

This position will lead Communities United for Police Reform’s (CPR) overall resource development and philanthropic advocacy work. The Director of Development will work closely with the Managing Director, steering committee and others to build and implement a robust multi-tiered fundraising strategy to support the resource needs of CPR and CPR member organizations. This position will oversee creative strategies to engage individual and institutional donors, with a movement-building approach that integrates all parts of CPR in our campaigns and resource development efforts. The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraiser who has deep roots in racial and other justice movements, understands fundraising as part of community organizing and is passionate about CPR’s mission and goals.

CPR is an unprecedented campaign to end discriminatory policing practices in New York, and to build a lasting movement that promotes public safety and reduces reliance on policing. CPR runs coalitions of over 200 local, statewide and national organizations and has won significant organizing, policy and litigation victories since being launched in 2012.
