Prepare & Activate Your Resource Mobilization Plan
If you’re like most nonprofit fundraisers (paid and volunteer) you’re familiar with the challenges of keeping our social justice missions funded. We often feel pressed for time, consistently stretched to the limits of our skills and experience, and regularly pressured to do more with less.
The Resource Mobilizer Online Laboratory is a practice space for community and nonprofit leaders with an interest in applying relational-based, resource mobilization skills to support community building work. Resource mobilization is a developing practice grounded in an established history of communities collaborating for survival, resilience, and healing. As part of this unique, online learning experience you’ll create and execute an individual donor resourcing (i.e. fundraising) plan to help power your social justice change work.
Together, we will:
learn the tactics, skills, and strategies to resource our movements through Just Transition values,
plan and prepare to execute our individual resourcing campaigns, and
build and nurture a network of support by and for Resource Mobilizers like us.
Time Commitment
The Resource Mobilizer Online Laboratory is an opportunity to develop your skills and leadership in resource mobilization, a practice at the growing edge of grassroots fundraising. It’s designed to engage participants regularly and consistently over three (3) months as they pursue their movement-building resourcing goals.
Emerging Resource Mobilizers commit to attend 1.5 hour-long, biweekly live sessions in the Lab. Participants should expect to spend approximately 6-8 hours a month participating in supplemental learning opportunities and completing Lab assignments.
Cost
Full cost registration for WRAP’s Resource Mobilizer Online Laboratory is $900. Partial discounts available in exchange for volunteer service to WRAP. Applicants who are invited to register for the Lab will have two (2) weeks to confirm participation and make/propose a deposit against the cost of registration.
Limited number of full scholarships available, primarily for new(er) resource mobilizers who are: Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color; transgender, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, or gender nonconforming; serving in volunteer roles and/or for social justice organizations with an annual budget of <$250,000.
All registration fees subsidize real costs associated with planning, managing, and facilitating the Online Laboratory in ways consistent with WRAP’s commitment to radical inclusivity.
Program Description
Biweekly live videoconference gatherings will feature interactive learning, guest presenters, peer coaching on individual goals, and cross-issue strategizing. We will adapt our learning process and goals as the need arises. Facilitators will host optional open lab hours for additional support on alternating weeks when we aren’t scheduled to meet live. Course content includes the following.

LAB 6: Multi-Cohort Graduation Event
2022 lab sessions
We’ll be recruiting at least one new cohort for WRAP’s Online Laboratory for New & Emerging Resource Mobilizers this summer! Space is limited in each cohort and participants who are available to commit to active participation for the full duration of the Lab will receive priority.
