RESOURCE MOBILIZERS COLLAB

In 2019, in response to the philanthropic sector’s growing disinvestment in capacity building for fundraising professionals, three infrastructure-building nonprofit organizations, Justice Funders, CompassPoint, and Wealth Reclamation Academy of Practitioners (WRAP), launched initiatives to transform fundraising training and practice. Together, they form the Resource Mobilizers Collaborative.

These three efforts are led by people embedded within movement organizing, in various communities, throughout the country with a lifelong commitment to how people can be brought together. The leaders of the three initiatives are Mario Lugay (Justice Funders’ Movement Commons Lab), Steve Lew (CompassPoint) and Veronica Garcia (WRAP). Learn more about the Resource Mobilizers Collaborative here.

byp100

Founded in 2013, Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100) is a member-based organization of Black youth activists creating justice and freedom for all Black people. BYP100 was, at one point, just a hashtag for the 2013 “Beyond November Movement Convening” developed through the vision and leadership of Cathy Cohen. Now, BYP100 is a national collective that emphasizes building chapters throughout the country to hone in on grassroots organizing and community mobilization on local levels.

WRAP's ongoing partnership with the BYP100 Resource Mobilizer Program includes coordinating coaching and mentorship of a small cohort, which in turn supports a vast network of local chapters across the USA. Learn more about BYP100 here.

SECURING THE ROOTS

Securing the Roots (STR) is a fellowship to expand the fundraising capacity for community-based organizations in and around Philadelphia with budgets up to $1 million.

WRAP co-led and co-facilitated the STR 2023 Cohort. As part of the cohort, participants build individual and collective capacities for generating resources; learn about raising resources, practice, then learn and practice more; have in-person conversations with major gift officers, program officers, and/or foundation directors; and ask and answer questions to help inform the way that their organization raises resources. Learn more about STR here.
